Truck Driving Ghost

When I began to drive a Big Truck in 94, my co-driver and S.O., kept finding these odd jeans in his closet on the truck.  He would come out across the parking lot after taking his shower, holding them up, and the tops of his boots showing!  6'plus and long and lean, he kept ending up with jeans that were 38X30! Eventually, we began to find T-shirts that were strange in our laundry.  They all had a slit in the neckline, like the person may have had a goiter.

So, one day, we were at a friend’s house, and were telling him about this.  His upstairs neighbor was listening, and when we got to the T-shirts, she gasped and dashed out of the apartment.  When she came back, she had a box with her.  In it were T-shirts with the slit in the neck, just as we had described.  In addition to that, in a trembling voice, she told us that it also used to have jeans, size 38X30, but they were all mysteriously gone.  These all belonged to her dead husband, who had been murdered in his truck in the CA desert.

Then she told us about how he had recently started "visiting" their god-children, who were very young, and didn't even know he was dead!  This was truly interesting, and the clothes stopped appearing in our truck after that.  I guess he just wanted to be sure we knew who he was, because he stayed on our trucks with us the whole time we drove together.  He even visited our apartment, and came to our farm when we bought it.  I know these things, because we didn't tell new folks about him, so he would visibly appear to them, and scare them half to death!  Having a whacky sense of humor, he hid things from us, and pulled practical jokes on us regularly. 

One time, when a driver we hired, was mistreating a truck we owned, he brought a board from the bunk area, and proceeded to whack the driver with it while he was driving down the road.  He told me he behaved after that, but he still got whacked again.  While he was sleeping, the board was taken out of the cabinet where it had been taped into place, and then after he got it from our ghost, he found the tape on his pillow!  He told me he figured the ghost wanted to make sure that he got the message.  And promised to always treat our truck right after that!

This is all very strange, as there is all this talk about ghosts inhabiting the places where they died.  Maybe because he had driven a truck for so many years, he felt comfortable with other truck drivers?  Or because the truck he died in was no longer around? I do know that even though it wasn't the truck he died in, the one I drove when I first started was the one he drove when he was with our company.  So maybe that was why he chose us.  Or maybe it was because we were both psychically gifted a bit.  All I do know is it sure did make for some interesting times!  He hasn't been to visit me in a long time, maybe because I don't drive a Big Truck anymore!
